About the event

Member Class: Writing Your Artist Statement

What is an Artist Statement? A first-person artist statement is a short document that explains the “why,” “what,” and “how” of your work. It connects your art to the viewer by explaining your creative goals, themes, and methods in an easy-to-understand way. It serves as a professional, always-changing summary of your artistic work for websites, galleries, and viewers.

Karen Goetzinger will provide guidance to CAG members on creating their Artist Statements for juried art shows and galleries on Monday, April 20, at 6:30 PM.
